Today Blue World Oceanarium mourns the loss of October, a 20 year old female orca.
October came to be with the Blue Ocean pod in 2014, shortly after the park opened. Though where she'd been captured was shrouded in mystery, it was determined that she had not led a good life before being sold to Blue World. She showed signs of several medical problems and required special attention regularly.
But the young cow grew well in the Oceanarium's care. In 2018, she gave birth to her first calf, a healthy young female fathered by Blue World's Akama. Despite how healthy the calf was though, October suffered and was put under even more medical surveillance as the years went on.
In early 2022, October was determined pregnant again, despite being on regular birth control at the time.
Again, the calf was born healthy, however smaller then her sister. October would never recover from the pregnancy though, and two weeks after the birth of her calf, she was found dead one morning when trainers came in.
October will be remembered as a sweet and affectionate whale who was loved by all of her trainers.

Just toying with some ideas. October is a bit of an underdeveloped character who's had many struggles in captivity. Her life will be shortened by it, despite the top of the line care at Blue World.
It's not matured, but if anyone feels it needs to be, please just let me know and I'll change it.
